Osseous Surgery

Osseous surgery is required when deep pockets persist around the teeth after non-surgical treatment. The goal is to better access the affected areas to reduce the pocket areas. Infected gum tissue may be removed, the root surfaces thoroughly cleaned and detoxified, and uneven bone margins recontoured. The gum is then replaced and held in place with resorbable (dissolving) sutures and a surgical dressing for your comfort during healing.
