Guided Bone Regeneration

Traditionally, eliminating the gum pockets by osseous surgery predictably treats gum disease. Although this is still a very effective way of treating gum disease, new and more sophisticated procedures maybe used in conjunction to regenerate tissue lost to disease.

Guided Bone Regeneration "regenerates" the previously lost gum and bone tissue. Most techniques utilize membranes and/or bioactive agents, which are inserted into or over the bone defects. Most of these membranes are bio-absorbable and guide your body to replace the missing tissues.
