Computer Guided Implant Surgery

Computer Guided Dental Implant Placement

Most radiographic images that are used to place dental implants are two dimensional. Properly angulated, they provide a reasonable estimate of bone height. Often bone width was not determined until the bone was exposed during surgery.

Computer guided implant placement technology allows Dr. Blanchard to accurately and safely replace missing teeth. Dr. Blanchard uses the latest 3D imaging technology which allows us to create a three dimensional image of the jaw. He plans the treatment precisely on the computer in consultation with you dentist and often the dental laboratory. This plan is then converted into a surgical guide that allows Dr. Blanchard to place the implants into the exact 3-dimensional positions as planned on the computer. This allows Dr. Blanchard to place implants with a level of precision that was unattainable several years ago. In addition, the surgical procedures can often be accomplished in a much more conservative procedure which involves greatly reduced discomfort and less treatment time. Computer guided implant placement is the safest and most precise way to place dental implants, in most cases.
